How to set up a fully booked, walk-in, and call-only message in the widget

Control what guests see when booking isn't available

Control what guests see when booking isn’t available

With FRANK, you can show clear messages in your reservation widget when guests are unable to book online. This helps set the right expectations and guides guests on what to do next.

When are these messages shown?

You can set three different types of messages:

Fully booked

Show a message when your restaurant is fully booked. This lets guests know there is no availability and prevents confusion.

Walk-ins only

Show a message when you only accept walk-in guests. Perfect for more flexible service moments where reservations aren’t required.

Call-only reservations

Show a message when guests can only make a reservation by phone. This is useful for special situations or when you want more control over bookings.

How to set your messages

  1. Go to your Manage → Setup

  2. Add a message for each scenario:

    • Fully booked

    • Walk-ins only

    • Call-only

  3. Make sure to fill in all available languages if you use multiple languages in your widget. This ensures every guest sees the correct message

Preview your messages

To see how your messages appear to guests:

  • Go to Manage → Widget

  • Check the widget preview

This allows you to review the wording and make sure everything looks and feels right.

Why this matters

Clear communication prevents frustration. By showing the right message at the right moment, you guide your guests and keep the experience smooth even when booking isn’t possible.
