Congratulations! You are already off to a great start. You’ve made a decision to defeat your debt and everyone here is committed to your success. Below is a checklist for success so you can ensure that you are taking every possible step to be successful.
Be Patient, Have Faith
✔ This may be a scary process, but remember our goal is to get you out of debt as least costly and as quickly as possible. Remember we do not collect any fees until we reach settlement, so this ensures we are actively trying to reach settlements for you in a timely manner.
Complete your Welcome Call
✔ If you are new to the plan and haven’t already done so, we have important information to tell you. Listen and ask questions, if you do not understand, so we can make sure we are on the same page.
Create a Spending Plan
✔ Create a monthly spending plan that identifies your large and recurring expenses such as housing, auto and food. Be mindful of your monthly budget.
Make Sure Funds are Available on Your Drafts Dates
✔ Making timely and consistent payment drafts, each and every month, is the most important factor for ultimate program success. Also, you can add funds, whenever able, to help speed up your program length and help your overall success in the program.
Create a Draft Date Reminder
✔ If you use a physical calendar, please mark your monthly draft date on the calendar. Alternatively, you can create a recurring reminder using your computer based calendaring system (such as Outlook).
Update Us with any Contact Changes
✔ Make sure we always have your most up to date contact information on file. If your Phone number, Address or email changes, please notify us.
Stay in Communication with Us
✔ From time to time we may reach out to you via phone or email to update you on the status of the negotiations or to receive your authorization on the terms of a settlement we have negotiated with one of your creditors. Please be prepared to respond to our correspondence. The authorizations, in particular, can be time sensitive.
Inform us of Creditor Changes
✔ From time to time your accounts may move to a different creditor or collection agency during your program. This is a natural part of the process and can actually help our ability to negotiate a favorable settlement for you. It may happen that you receive notice of such a change in the mail before we are notified. You also may receive notice of your account number changing. If you receive such a notice, please update us by phone or feel free to forward to us by fax or email. We do not need regular statements or delinquent notices.
Login to Your Global Holdings account Monthly
✔ We encourage you to review your payment and creditor settlement information at least monthly to confirm your account activity.
Don’t Let Your Creditors Pressure You
✔ We unfortunately cannot stop creditor calls. You do not have to speak to your creditors. They will still attempt to get a payment from you, so they do not have to agree to a settlement with us. Keep in mind the person we are negotiating with may not be the person attempting to collect your payment from you because typically the person calling you doesn’t have the authority to speak to us. Remember they will use scare tactics to try to convince you to make a payment. Speaking to your creditors can interfere with negotiations.
