Why a Rental Deposit is Required
The rental deposit acts as a security for the landlord in case there are damages, unpaid rent, or other costs at the end of your stay.
👉 Don’t worry — in almost all cases, the full deposit is returned without deductions. It’s simply a standard requirement in Austria for rental agreements.
💸 Transferring Your Deposit
Before you receive your keys, your deposit must be transferred to the landlord.
You can find the landlord’s bank details in your booking confirmation or contract.
Please include your full name and room reference in the payment reference so it can be matched easily.
Once you’ve made the transfer, send a proof of payment to:
📧 support@friends-in-flats.at
If you’re transferring the deposit from abroad:
Make sure to cover any international transfer fees so the correct amount arrives.
If you face delays due to bank processing or visa/residency issues, don’t stress — just let us know and we’ll help coordinate with the landlord.
🔁 Getting Your Deposit Back
Once your stay ends and you’ve completed the offboarding process, the landlord will review:
✅ That all rental payments have been received.
💧 Any differences in utility usage compared to what was paid.
🪑 Whether any furniture or items were damaged during your stay.
Based on this, the landlord will calculate your final deposit settlement.
⏳ Timeline:
This process typically takes 2–4 weeks after move-out.
We’ll do our best to assist you and make sure you receive your deposit as quickly as possible.
🧹 Cleaning Fee Deduction
A €110 cleaning fee is always deducted from the deposit.
This covers the professional cleaning of the room/apartment after you leave.
