How to Check if Your SIM Has a PIN

If your EarthRover is having trouble connecting to mobile data, it's likely due to a SIM PIN lock.

Why Removing the SIM PIN Is Important

The EarthRover cannot access mobile data if a SIM card has a PIN lock enabled. By disabling the PIN, your EarthRover will be able to connect to the mobile network and use its data plan.

To determine if your SIM card has a PIN enabled, you need to insert the SIM card you're using for your EarthRover into your phone. Once inserted, follow the appropriate steps below depending on your phone’s operating system.

On Android Devices:

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Navigate to Security & Privacy or Biometrics & Security.

  3. Tap on More Security Settings or SIM Card Lock.

  4. Select SIM Card Lock.

  5. If Lock SIM card is enabled, toggle it off.

  6. You’ll be prompted to enter the current PIN. Once entered correctly, the PIN will be removed.

On iPhone (iOS):

  1. Go to Settings.

  2. Tap Cellular or Mobile Data.

  3. Select SIM PIN.

  4. Turn off the SIM PIN toggle.

  5. You’ll be prompted to enter the PIN. After entering it, the PIN will be removed.
