EarthRovers support most standard 4G physical SIM cards, but coverage and performance vary by country. We recommend choosing a SIM from a major carrier with strong 4G coverage in your area.
Both newly issued and older SIM cards are supported, as long as they:
are 4G-enabled
have an active data plan
have no PIN lock enabled
⚠️ Important: Some SIM providers list in their terms of use that the SIM card may only be used in mobile phones. Using the SIM in a robot or IoT device may not be officially supported and could result in restricted service. Always confirm with your provider before choosing a SIM for your EarthRover.
Below is the consolidated list of all SIM cards tested with EarthRovers, including those verified by the manufacturer, FrodoBots, and customers.

Notes & Recommendations
Manufacturer certified means tested and approved by the robot’s hardware manufacturer.
Tested by FrodoBots means verified internally by the FrodoBots team.
Used by customers indicates positive reports from EarthRover users in those countries.
For best performance, use SIM cards that support 4G data and IoT/hotspot devices.
If your SIM connects but the video feed fails, check or update the APN settings on your device.
