Is there a monthly membership or subscription fee when you purchase an EarthRover?

No. When you purchase your EarthRover, there are no subscription or membership fees. Once you receive it, it’s completely yours to manage and operate.

Internet Connection and Data Use

Your EarthRover connects to the internet to drive. This connection can be through a 4G SIM card or Wi-Fi, depending on your setup.

If you use a 4G SIM card:

  • You’ll need to get your own SIM card and data plan.

  • The bot connects using your SIM’s mobile data.

  • It typically uses about 1 GB of data per hour while driving.

  • When it’s idle or not streaming video, it doesn’t use data.

  • You can choose any 4G carrier that works best in your area.

  • The SIM plan is managed and paid by you, not by FrodoBots.

If you use Wi-Fi:

  • You can connect your bot to a Wi-Fi network instead of using mobile data.

  • Wi-Fi is a good option for indoor or enclosed test areas where a stable connection is available.

In short, there are no monthly fees, just your one-time purchase and, if you choose to use a SIM, your own mobile data costs.


Other Things to Know

  • Shipping fees are paid by the customer during checkout.

  • Taxes, import duties, or tariffs are not included in the shipping cost. These depend on your country’s customs regulations and are billed directly by your local courier upon delivery.
