If you notice flickering or flashing lights in your RoboCap recordings, this may be caused by the frequency of indoor lighting.
This is more likely to occur in locations that use 50 Hz AC power. Changing the RoboCap camera settings can help reduce or eliminate the flickering.
Before You Start
Make sure:
RoboCap is powered on and connected to a power bank
You have a computer or laptop available
Your computer can connect to the RoboCap Wi-Fi
Step 1: Connect to the RoboCap Wi-Fi
On your computer or laptop:
Open your Wi-Fi settings.
Find the network starting with
Robocap_.For example:
Robocap_2cfConnect using the default password:
12345678
Note: Your computer must remain connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi while changing the camera settings.
Step 2: Open the RoboCap Control Center
Open a browser.
Enter
192.168.11.1in the browser address bar.The RoboCap Control Center will open.
If the page does not open, check that your computer is still connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Open the Camera Settings
In the RoboCap Control Center:
Go to the Camera Settings page.
Find the Country setting.
Select China (CN).
Find the ISP Scenario setting.
Step 4: Choose the Recommended ISP Scenario
Select the scenario based on your recording environment.

Indoor with visible light flickering | Reduce Light Flicker and Motion Blur |
For indoor recordings where flickering is visible, we recommend Reduce Light Flicker and Motion Blur.
This setting is designed to reduce flickering caused by indoor lighting while also helping reduce motion blur.
Step 5: Test the Recording
After changing the setting:
Record a short video in the same environment where you previously noticed flickering.
Stop the recording and wait for RoboCap to finish saving it.
Export and review the video.
Check whether the flickering has been eliminated or significantly reduced.
If you move between indoor and outdoor environments, you may need to change the ISP Scenario to match your recording environment.
Why Does This Happen?
Some artificial lights rapidly fluctuate according to the local AC power frequency. Although this may not be noticeable to your eyes, a camera can capture these fluctuations as visible flickering.
Testing showed that RoboCap recordings at 30 FPS can exhibit flickering under 50 Hz lighting with the standard outdoor camera setting. Using Reduce Light Flicker and Motion Blur eliminated the visible flickering during testing.
