The bot is stuck, what to do?

Updated today

If your EarthRover appears stuck, it could mean one of two things:

  1. It’s physically stuck on an obstacle.

  2. It’s not responding to your commands.

Here’s what to do in each case:

Physically Stuck on an Obstacle

If your bot is physically stuck, it might be caught on a barrier, tangled in grass, or flipped over during the drive.

Please reach out to support so our team can check the bot’s status and help reset or recover it remotely.

To speed up the process, share:

  • A short description of what happened

  • Screenshots or photos of the bot’s position, if possible

You can contact support through the chat widget on the lower right of the page.

Once you’ve reported the issue, you can already switch to another bot and continue your drive.

Not Responding to Commands

If your bot isn't moving or responding to your commands, try these troubleshooting steps:

1. Check Your Internet Connection

Ensure your Wi-Fi is connected and working. A stable internet connection is crucial for your bot's proper functioning.

2. Reload the Page

You may not be properly connected to your bot. Try reloading the page twice by clicking the refresh button on your browser or pressing the F5 key on your keyboard.

3. Check Keyboard Settings

If you selected keyboard as controls, ensure it's set to an English layout, as different layouts can sometimes cause input problems.

4. Try a Different Browser

If the issue persists, switch to a different browser like Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge, as some browsers may encounter compatibility issues.

5. Close and Open a New Tab

Close the current tab and open a new one. This can refresh the connection between your browser and the bot.

6. Restart Your Device

Restart your device to clear any temporary glitches or technical issues that might be affecting your bot's performance.

7. Log Out and Re-login to Your Account

Try logging out of your account and then logging back in. This can refresh your connection and may resolve the issue.

8. Clear Your Browser Cache

Clear your browser's cache to remove any stored data that may be causing issues with your bot.

If the bot still doesn’t respond after these steps, you can quit your current drive and try again with another bot.
