Bot stuck in use after public link access

Updated over 2 weeks ago

Issue Summary

If you’ve made your bot public and shared the access link with someone, it allows one person at a time to drive the bot. However, if that person closes the tab without properly ending the session, the bot may remain in a ā€œbeing usedā€ state or continue showing ā€œ[username] is driving.", even though no one is actively controlling it.

This means:

  • The bot will appear busy to others, including the owner.

  • No one else can take over control until the session is cleared.

See image below for reference.

When Does This Happen?

This typically happens when:

  • Someone is using your bot via a public link and they exit the browser tab or lose connection without properly terminating the drive.

As a result, the system does not automatically release control of the bot.

How to Fix It

If your bot is stuck in this state, follow these steps:

  1. Log in to your account.

  2. Click Share and change the bot’s availability from Public to Private.

  3. After clicking Make Private, you will see a confirmation pop-up showing that the bot is now private.

  4. Reload the page. The bot should appear available to drive again.

This action will forcefully terminate the active session, making the bot available again.

The moment you set your bot to Private, anyone who previously had access through the shared link will no longer be able to access the bot. The link will effectively expire.

If you want to allow someone to access the bot again, click Share, switch it back to Make Public, and send the new link to them.

FAQs

Q: Can the owner still access the bot if it’s stuck?
A: No. The bot remains locked until the session is cleared using the steps above.

Q: How many people can use the public link at once?
A: Only one person at a time can control the bot using the shared link.
