The 1% Floating Loss Rule

Understanding the maximum floating loss limit and soft breach consequences.

Written by Team FD

Your combined floating (open) loss across all open positions must stay within 1% of your account's starting balance at all times. This is measured in real time and includes commissions. Funded Daily accounts are swap-free, so overnight and rollover swap costs are not a factor in this calculation.

  • Violation (Soft Breach): If your total floating loss exceeds 1% of your starting balance at any moment, it is recorded as a soft breach and the profit from that trade is deducted from your payout.

  • Account Closure: If you reach 20 soft breaches, the account will be closed as a Hard Breach.

This rule applies to Instant Funding and Instant Funding Pro accounts.
