One Retry Per Account: The Progression Rule

The nuance that trips people up: why you can't retry a retry, explained with a worked example.

🔁 Overview

Retry gives you exactly one free credit per account, not one per stage. Whichever stage you first fail and claim a retry at, that credit is now used, and it stays used, even as you progress through later stages on a completely different failure than the one that triggered it.

🧭 How Progression Works

Once you claim your account's retry credit at any stage, every stage you pass through afterward runs on that stage's retry ruleset, not the original ruleset, because your account is now on the retry track for good.

Retry Paths by Account Type

Account Type

Retry Path

1-Step / 1-Step Pro

Phase 1 Retry → Funded Retry

2-Step Fast / 2-Step Squad

Phase 1 Retry → Phase 2 Retry → Funded Retry

Instant Lite / Instant Pro

Funded Retry (single stage)

🧮 Worked Example: The Edge Case

This is the scenario that catches people out.

  1. A 2-Step trader fails their original Phase 1. They claim their free Phase 1 Retry — this uses their account's one retry credit.

  2. They pass Phase 1 Retry and advance to Phase 2. Because their account is already on the retry track, this Phase 2 attempt runs on Phase 2 Retry rules, not the original Phase 2 rules.

  3. They fail this Phase 2 attempt.

Result: no second retry. Their account's single retry credit was already used at Phase 1. Reaching Phase 2 through the retry track doesn't generate a new, independent credit. To continue, they need to purchase a new account.

✅ The Rule in One Line

Your account gets exactly one free retry, not one per stage. It's used the moment you first claim it, and every stage you reach after that runs on retry rules until you pass all the way through or fail again and need to purchase a new account.
