Finding Things Fast: Search, Filters, and Custom Views

Gaia provides three ways to locate data: Quick Search, filters on each list page, and saved custom views.

Quick Search

Quick Search is available from any page in the web app. It searches across items, recipes, supplies, and vendor products. Use it when you do not remember which area of the app a record lives in.

Filters on List Pages

Most list pages, such as the Students table, the Orders dashboard, and the Pantry, have filter dropdowns above the table. Filters narrow the visible rows by attributes such as school, vendor, category, grade, or eligibility status.

Filters are not saved between sessions. To save a set of filters for repeated use, build a custom view.

Custom Views in the Pantry

The Pantry supports saved custom views that combine a data type (items, recipes, ingredients, products), a set of filters, the visible columns, and the sort order. Views can be set to visible only to you or shared with everyone in the district.

See Pantry Views for what custom views can do, and Create a custom pantry view for the step-by-step instructions.
