Overview
Generate Label creates a printable or exportable nutrition label for a specific day on a menu plan, built from the recipes checked for that day. This article covers the label's content and layout options: the title, ingredient statement, allergens, and special diets, and how Portrait and Landscape orientation affect the layout.
For scaling and printing a single recipe's own label from the recipe page, see Scale & Print Recipe.
Opening Generate Label
From a menu plan day, choose Generate Label and check the recipes to include. The dialog that opens controls everything about how the label looks.
Title
The Title field is pre-filled from the checked recipes' names, but you can overtype it with anything you want printed at the top of the label. Turn on Include serving size in title to append it automatically.
Placement
Four elements can be positioned independently:
Title placement: Header (full width, above the nutrition facts panel; the default) or Beside Nutrition Panel (larger text, in a column next to the panel).
Ingredient statement placement: left, right, above, or below the nutrition facts panel. A separate size toggle switches between the standard fine print and a larger, easier-to-read size.
Allergens placement: Header, under the title, or with the ingredient statement.
Special Diets placement: with the nutrition facts panel or with the ingredient statement. Special Diets only appears on the label once you turn it on; it's off by default.
When allergens and special diets land in the same zone, they stack as two lines, allergens first.
Portrait and Landscape
Portrait is today's standard layout. Landscape widens whichever element is placed beside the nutrition facts panel (the title or the ingredient statement) to roughly three times the panel's width, and sets the Word page itself to landscape. Selecting Landscape also sets Title placement to Beside Nutrition Panel and Ingredient statement placement to right as starting points; both stay changeable afterward, and switching back to Portrait doesn't reset them. If nothing ends up placed beside the panel, Landscape has no visible effect, the same way Tabular format ignores placement entirely.
Your Settings Are Remembered
Gaia remembers your last Template, Orientation, and placement/size choices in this browser and restores them the next time you open Generate Label from any menu day. This is per-browser: a shared kitchen login or a different computer won't have your last settings.
