Genie now makes it easier than ever to manage and track your incoming shipments, no matter how complex your delivery schedule may be. All without needing to go through the PO window.

What is the Shipment Tracker?

The Shipment Tracker is a centralized table that helps you manage and monitor your incoming stock without making changes to the original Purchase Order or needing to jump through windows to get to it. Genie’s Shipment tracker brings all of your shipments and relevant information to the front lines for easy access.

It shows you:

  • All incoming shipments at a glance

  • The status of each shipment (received or not received)

  • Detailed information like expected quantities, tracking numbers, and delivery dates

This means you can confidently track what’s on the way and make real-time updates without touching your main order data.

How is it used?

The Shipment Tracker is designed to simplify the receiving process, especially when items arrive in multiple batches. It’s perfect for handling partial deliveries, adjusting expected quantities, and updating landed costs without affecting the entire PO.

It’s like an alternative route to confirming orders and receiving inventory, removing some of the additional steps that were in place before. Now, you can receive in just a couple of clicks.

Whether your shipments are early, late, split, or bundled, the Shipment Tracker helps you stay in control.

How to Manage Shipments with the Shipment Tracker

Follow these steps to start managing your shipments easily:

Step 1: View Incoming Shipments

Go to the Shipment Tracker from your Genie dashboard to see all your active and upcoming shipments.

Step 2: Add or Adjust Shipments

If your order is split into multiple shipments, you can add new shipments or update the details of existing ones—like changing quantities, expected delivery dates, or notes.

Step 3: Update Shipment Details

Click into any shipment to update key information such as carrier, tracking number, ETA, or notes. This keeps your records aligned with real-world events.

Step 4: Manage Partial Deliveries

When items arrive in parts, update the individual shipment to reflect what was actually received. You don’t have to modify the whole purchase order—just adjust the relevant shipment.

Step 5: Mark Shipments as Received

Once a shipment arrives, mark it as received. Just like normal receiving, you will be given the option to update in Shopify automatically or manually.

Step 6: Update Units and Landed Costs

After receiving, you can update the unit quantities either manually or push them to Shopify. Then, you will have the option of updating your landed costs in Genie. This ensures your inventory and accounting are always accurate.
