This guide provides an overview of inventory reports in Genie and how to configure them. These reports provide valuable insights into stock levels, sales velocity, and more.
You can start by navigating to the Reports tab. Here, you will find several preconfigured reports: Out of Stock Alerts, Stockout Risks, Dead Stock Alerts, Sales Velocity, and more. Each report provides different insights into your inventory status.
Stockout Risk Report | These reports scan your whole inventory and show products at risk of running out. This can be over specific periods, but by default, it will be within the next 30 days. |
Dead Stock Report | These reports show products that qualify as dead stock. Deadstock means that there have not been any sales over a specific time period. Like the others, dead stock reports are a revolving one that shows products that have become dead stock in the last time period. |
Sales Velocity Report | These reports show all products that have had an unusual change in sales in the last time period, good or bad. |
Dashboard snapshot report | This report provides a snapshot of the information found on your dashboard. |
Purchase Orders report | This report provides an overview of your purchase orders and offers information on costs, products, statuses, and payments associated with the orders. |
Sales report | Provides a report overviewing the current sales, cost values, and sell-through information. |
Inventory report | This report provides a snapshot of your products and their associated information. The report will mirror the default view of the inventory table. |
Negative values report | This is a report highlighting which products in the catalog contain negative on-hand values. |
Variance Report | This report provides an overview of performance from week to week (month to month, or day to day) based on the period you choose. |
Stock Asset Value Report (Active products) & (All products) | These are two different reports that serve the same purpose. They provide insight into the value of your inventory. One will be around all Active products, and the other will include All products (including draft and archived). |
Now, configuring these reports is straightforward. For now, the configurations you can make on each report are changing its Status (active or inactive), frequency, schedule, and notification, and for stockout reports specifically, the period.
Step 1: Select the report you would like to configure. This can be done by clicking on the name of the report.
Step 2: Click the "Edit report" button.
Step 3: Now, you can make your changes. You can change the frequency of when each report is generated, the time of day you can view it, and whether or not you want to receive the report via email.
If checked, the received via option will send the report to whatever email you are logged in as.
Step 4: Save these changes. The updates will be reflected in the report tab next to each report.
And that's how you configure your Genie reports—simple enough right?
You should now be able to start reporting on your inventory. Reports offer a deeper look into your inventory and can help you keep tabs on how your inventory performs over time.
