Integrating CLARA + SAP SuccessFactors
Learn how to connect CLARA and SAP SuccessFactors in just a few steps.
Prerequisites
Before starting the integration, ensure you have:
CLARA Admin access
SAP SuccessFactors Admin credentials
Your SuccessFactors API Domain and Company ID
Step 1: Gather Your SAP SuccessFactors Information
You'll need the following information from your SAP SuccessFactors account:
API Domain: Your SuccessFactors API domain (e.g., salesdemo12345.successfactors.com)
Company ID: Your unique company identifier in SuccessFactors (e.g., AAAAAAA00000)
Admin Credentials: Username and password for a SuccessFactors admin account

Estimated overall setup time for this stage: 30 minute
Create a new user and permission group for that user.
Create a new permission role and then assign that to the newly-created permission group.
Generate the API credentials for that permission role.
Once this is complete, you can move over to the CLARA side of things.
Step 2: Set Up the Integration in CLARA
Navigate to the "Integrations" tab in CLARA.
Click the "Add New Integration" button.
3. Select SAP SuccessFactors from the list of applicant tracking systems.
4. Enter your SuccessFactors connection details:
API Domain
Company ID
Admin username and password
5. Click "Connect to ATS."
6. Confirm integration is successful via the "Connection Status."
Step 3: Configure Your Integration Settings
Select Jobs to Process
Choose which SuccessFactors jobs you want CLARA to process.
You can select individual jobs or enable automatic processing for all jobs.
Map Actions
Enable CLARA to sync job status with your SuccessFactors account.
Configure which actions in CLARA should update SuccessFactors.
Follow-up Questions
Decide at which candidate status you'd like to send CLARA follow-up questions.
This can be configured later for individual jobs if needed.
Step 4: Import Jobs from SuccessFactors
Go to the Jobs page in CLARA.
Select "Add Job.β
(Note: this can also be accomplished from the Integrations page once the ATS is connected).
Choose "Import Job from ATS.β
Select the jobs you'd like to add from your SuccessFactors account.
3. Confirm your selections.
How the Integration Works
Once connected, CLARA will:
Sync candidate data from SuccessFactors jobs into CLARA for processing.
Add custom fields to your SuccessFactors candidate profiles with CLARA insights.
Apply intelligent tags based on CLARA's candidate segmentation.
Update candidate status between both platforms (when enabled).
What You'll See in SuccessFactors
After candidates are processed through CLARA, you'll find:
CLARA Custom Fields: Enhanced candidate information including skills assessment, learning agility scores, and role alignment data
Tags Section: Intelligent tags from CLARA segments that help you quickly identify pre-qualified candidates
Status Updates: Candidate progression synchronized between CLARA and SuccessFactors
Troubleshooting
Connection Issues:
Verify your API domain format includes the full URL.
Ensure your Company ID matches exactly (case-sensitive).
Check that your admin account has API access permissions.
Missing Jobs:
Confirm jobs are published and active in SuccessFactors.
Check that your admin account has access to the specific jobs.
Data Sync Problems:
Allow a few minutes for initial sync after setup.
Verify mapping settings are correctly configured.
