Some new Glocal Hosts will want to test our app before sharing it with their people — that’s why we recommend running a test event. It’s a great way to get comfortable with the process of creating & tracking events.

Of course running a test event is just like creating a normal event, just with a smaller group in a controlled environment.

Step 1: Create your Test Event

  1. Navigate to Event Creation: Sign in and select Create an Event under the Track section.

  2. Event Basics: Name your event, add a description, and choose the type.

  3. Time and location: You can schedule a test right now. We recommend at least a 60-minute event when testing. Remember to choose your current location or where you’ll be at the event start so you can check in.

  4. Customize and Enhance: Select an image and set up feedback questions.

For detailed instructions, refer to our full article on creating events.

Step 2: Download the Glocal App to Find your Event

If you haven’t already, download the Glocal mobile app at glocal.io/download

You might also want to invite friends or colleagues to test Glocal with you. Go to My Events dashboard to copy a link to your event. More details on Direct sharing here.

Step 3: Check In to your Event and Complete the Guest Flow

As long as you’re within 75 miles of your event location you should be able to see it in the Glocal app event feed.

The main steps of the guest flow are as follows:

  1. Sign Up: Select the event tile and sign up. Host followers skip this step and are prompted to check in when they’re at the event location.

  2. Check-in: You can only check in if you’re at the event location, 15 minutes before.

  3. Share your Feedback: You’ll be prompted to give feedback halfway through your event.

  4. Earn Ayni: Once you’ve shared your feedback, you’ll earn Ayni, our digital currency. You can check your balance in your Wallet.

Step 4: Review your Test Event Feedback in your Events Dashboard

Your My Events dashboard offers a comprehensive view of all the feedback you’ve tracked from events. Here you can review the feedback from your test event.

  1. Overview of Performance: See aggregated data on events hosted, registrations, check-ins, feedback, and more.

  2. Demographic Insights: Get gender, age, and distance traveled statistics.

  3. Event-Specific Details: Access detailed metrics for each event and export data for analysis.

  4. Feedback Insights: Review attendee feedback to understand experiences and improve future events.

For detailed instructions, refer to our full article on using the My Events dashboard.

Conclusion

That’s it! Now you’re ready to create an event with your people. If you still have questions, remember to reach out to the Glocal team.
