Understanding Active Devices on Your Subscription

What does active devices mean?

  • Active devices refers to the number of devices that can be logged into your account at the same time.

This limit changes based on your subscription level:

  • Free

    • 1 active device

  • Starter

    • 2 active devices

  • Scale

    • 5+ active devices depending on the plan selected.

    • Back Office scale plans have a base of 7 active devices.

If you would like to compare and learn more information about our subscription plans please check out our Plans page.

What is an example of active devices?

A Starter subscription can only be logged into by 2 devices at the same time. This includes situations where multiple devices are used to log into the same account, or when team members share access to a single account.

If the owner of an account is logged in through their desktop PC, that means 1 device slot is taken up. If then the chef logs in through the company tablet, both active device slots are now filled.

In this scenario, if one of the kitchen staff tries to log in with the back of house tablet, they will receive an error message stating that the maximum number of logins has been reached for the account.

In order for the kitchen staff to access the account, one of the other devices will need to log out.

Is there a way to increase the number of active devices for our plan?

Yes, we do offer options to increase the number of devices that a subscription can have logged in at the same time.

For information contact our Sales Team.
