Uploading a CSV is the fastest way to get started if you already have a list of prospects. GetReplies accepts any CSV with at least a first name & last name, and either a LinkedIn URL (for LinkedIn campaigns) or an email address (for email campaigns).
What you need in your CSV
The minimum required fields depend on the campaign type you’re running:
LinkedIn-only campaign: First name, LinkedIn profile URL
Email-only campaign: First name, email address
Multi-channel campaign: First name, LinkedIn profile URL, and email address
Pro tip
First name and Last name are mandatory fields. If you do not have the last name, then simply copy the First name column and rename it to Last name.
You can bring in any number of additional columns — job title, company name, industry, location, custom research notes, intent signals from Clay, revenue data, or anything else your team has gathered. All of it can be mapped and used in your campaign messages.
How to upload a CSV
Go to your campaign → Contacts tab.
Click Upload CSV.
Drag and drop your file, or click to browse.
Map your columns to GetReplies fields (see table below).
For any column that doesn’t map to a standard field, click Add custom field and name it. It becomes a new GetReplies field.
Give your list a name and click Import.
Column mapping reference
Your CSV column | Maps to | Used for |
first_name / First Name | First name | Salutation |
last_name / Last Name | Last name | Full name variables |
email / Work Email | Email address | Email campaign sending |
linkedin_url / LinkedIn URL | LinkedIn profile URL | LinkedIn campaign sending |

URL fields must include https://
If you create a custom field with the type URL, the values must include the full URL including https:// — for example, https://getreplies.ai rather than just getreplies.ai.
If your data doesn’t have the prefix, add it in your spreadsheet before uploading, or change the field type to Text instead of URL.
Creating custom fields
Custom fields let you bring in any research or signal data from your CSV and use it directly in your message templates.
For example, if you’ve used Clay or Apollo to research your prospects and have a column called intent_signal, you can map it as a custom field, then insert it into your messages as a variable — or use it in an AI personalisation prompt: “Generate an opening line using this intent signal: {intent_signal}.”
| ⚙ Contacts → Upload CSV — column mapping screen |

Preview | Hover over any column header to see sample values before confirming |
List name | Give your list a descriptive name — e.g. 'CMOs — Healthcare US Q2' |

Third-party data sources that work well with CSV upload
If you don’t already have a prospect list, these tools can help you build one to upload:
Apollo.io — strong filtering by industry, company size, job title, and geography. Exports clean CSVs with email IDs included. Free tier available.
LinkedIn connections export — download your first-degree connections from LinkedIn Settings → Data Privacy → Get a copy of your data.
Clay — enriches contacts with intent signals and AI-generated insights. Map the additional columns as custom fields in GetReplies.
Lusha, SignalHire, Kaspr — good for finding individual email addresses and phone numbers. Upload the output CSV directly.
Already have email IDs in your CSV? No credits needed.
If your CSV already contains verified email addresses — from Apollo, a CRM export, or a previous enrichment — you don’t need to spend any enrichment credits.
Credits are only needed when you ask GetReplies to find email IDs or phone numbers for contacts that don’t already have them.
