Spear needs to know who not to reach out to because you are already connected to them on The Outreach Platform. This guide explains how to download your connections list and upload it to Spear.

Step 1: Log into The Outreach Platform.

Step 2: Click on 'Me' (top right) → 'Settings & Privacy'.

Step 3: Click on the 'Data privacy' tab on the left side.

Step 4: Click on 'Get a copy of your data'.

Step 5: Select the first option — 'Download larger data archive, including connections...' — and click 'Request archive'.

The file is delivered in two parts:

You'll receive an email for each. The file you need — 'Connections' — is included in Part 2. Once available, you have 72 hours to download it before it expires.

Step 6: Download the ZIP file. Inside you'll find multiple files — look for the one titled 'Connections'. This is a CSV of everyone you're connected to on The Outreach Platform.

Step 7: In Spear, go to Profile Settings → Outreach Platform connections → Click to upload and upload the Connections CSV.

Once uploaded, your connection count will automatically update as you make new connections through Spear. However, any connections made outside of Spear will not be included. For this reason, we recommend re-uploading your connections every 3 months to keep the data fully accurate.

Once you upload your connections file for the first time, the last upload date will appear in Profile Settings → Outreach Platform connections. Use this to keep track of when the file was last updated and stay on schedule with your quarterly re-uploads. If no file has been uploaded yet, this date will not be shown.
