How to Build Your Company Network in Spear

Spear can surface a warm path to a prospect based on who anyone in your company is already connected to. Here's how to upload your own connections, add colleagues, and find warm paths in your queue.

Spear can see who across your whole company is already connected to a prospect, so a warm intro can happen before outreach goes out cold. The more networks you add, the more warm paths Spear can find.

Where to find it

Go to Org Settings → Company Network. This page lists every network in your organization, both sending profiles and colleagues who don't send from Spear.

Two ways to grow your network

Option

Best for

Upload your own connections

Anyone with a Spear sending profile

Add a colleague

Teammates who don't use Spear but know your buyers (execs, founders, other AEs)

Upload your own connections

Your sending profile already appears on the Company Network page. To add your connections:

  1. Export your Connections file (see Get your connections file below).

  2. On the Company Network page, find your name and click the three dots and then Upload connections.

  3. Select the Connections CSV. The count next to your name updates shortly after.

Add a colleague

  1. On the Company Network page, paste the colleague's profile URL from The Outreach Platform to add them.

  2. Bring in their connections, one of two ways:

    • Upload their file yourself: If they've already sent you their Connections CSV, upload it next to their name.

    • Share an upload link: Generate a single-purpose link and send it to them so they can upload their own file. The link expires after 50 hours and can be revoked anytime.

Adding a colleague doesn't bring in their connections on its own, so make sure one of these happens.

Get your connections file from The Social Platform

You and your colleagues follow the same steps, whether you upload the file yourself or through a shared link.

Step 1: Log into The Social Platform.

Step 2: Click Me (top right), then Settings & Privacy.

Step 3: Open the Data privacy tab on the left.

Step 4: Click Get a copy of your data.

Step 5: Select Download larger data archive, including connections and click Request archive.

Step 6: Download the ZIP and open the file named Connections. This CSV is the file you upload to Spear.

Heads up: The archive arrives in two emails. Part 1 comes quickly, Part 2 can take up to 24 hours, and the Connections file is in Part 2. You have 72 hours to download it once it's ready.

How warm paths show up

Prospects connected to someone else in your Company Network get an In company network badge in the queue and on their card. Click it to see who can make the intro. You can also filter suggestions, messages, and prospects to warm paths only under More filters.

Note: A prospect's own sending profile doesn't count toward the badge. Knowing your own prospect isn't a warm path, it takes someone else in the org.

Keep it up to date

Connections made through Spear are added automatically. Connections made outside Spear aren't, so re-upload your list every few months.
