What is Trail Research?
Trail Research is an insurance research tool inside Trail that is designed to help advisers compare products, review benefits, generate estimated premium quotes, and access policy documents.
Is Trail Research for insurance only?
Yes, Trail Research is designed for advisers giving insurance advice and currently only provides information on insurance products.
What is the beta period?
We are currently offering Trail Research as a six-month beta release, free for Trail users, to give everyone the opportunity to test the tool and provide feedback. The tool will continue to be improved throughout the beta period as feedback is received.
How can I submit feedback or see what is already being worked on?
For urgent bugs or support questions, please continue to reach out to our Support Team via Intercom for the fastest response. Suggestions, missing products, or errors can be submitted through the feedback form accessed at the top of each page in Trail Research. From this form, there is a link to view our current backlog of tasks, where users can review what tasks are already being planned or in progress.
Does Trail Research replace my existing advice process?
While our aim is to allow advisers to conduct their research process solely within Trail, during the beta it is best used alongside your existing process and materials received directly from the insurance providers. This gives you the chance to compare outputs, get comfortable with the tool, and help shape future improvements.
Will Trail Research be available to non-Trail users?
During the beta, Trail Research will only be available to Trail users, however we expect to offer the tool to the wider market following its full release on October 1st. If you are a non-Trail user interested in Trail Research, please reach out to our team and we can add you to a waiting list so you can get access once it’s available.
How much will Trail Research cost after the beta period?
We are still confirming the price of Trail Research from October 1st after the beta period is finished, and we will provide more information closer to the time.
How often is Trail Research updated?
We work directly with insurance providers so that we can keep Trail Research updated when there are any product enhancements or rates changes. We aim to have any changes actioned in the tool from the day they apply.
Does Trail Research have integrations with Trail?
At this stage, Trail Research only uses Trail data when searching for a contact to use in the quoting tool. In the future we will look to identify other areas where Trail Research can connect to the Trail tool, and we welcome suggestions on what would be most useful.
