Filling in your profile

The four written sections, the readiness meter, and letting Vamos interview you instead.

Four written sections, and a meter telling you how much is still missing.

The four sections

About you. What you do, who it is for, and what you sell. Concrete: strength coach for busy parents, twelve-week one-to-one programme rather than helping people get fit.

Audience. Who you make content for. Specific enough to exclude people. Parents in their thirties who want fitness that survives a chaotic week excludes most of the internet, which is the point.

Goal. What you want content to do, as an outcome you could count. Ten booked discovery calls a month is a goal. Grow my audience is not, and it gives Vamos nothing to aim at.

Positioning. What makes you different from everyone else doing this. This is the section that stops your drafts reading like your competitors'.

Write them the way you would brief a new hire who is good but knows nothing about you. Vamos reads all four on every piece of work, so vagueness here shows up everywhere.

The readiness meter

Four things are scored: how deep the written sections are, how many content topics you have, your website, and your own handle.

It shows a percentage on the Refine with Vamos button at the top of the Profile tab. Once nothing is missing, the button changes to Update profile.

My Brand, Profile tab: the readiness percentage on the button at top right, then “Your socials and website” and “About you”

Let Vamos do it

Refine with Vamos is the faster route and usually the better one.

Vamos fills in what it can from your posts and website, then interviews you for whatever is still missing, asking only about the gaps. Answering questions out loud produces better material than filling in boxes, because you explain things rather than summarising them, and Vamos writes the sections from your answers.

Use it for the first pass, then edit what it wrote.

What to do first if you are short of time

  1. Your handle and a few writing samples. Those two do more than the written sections, because they give Vamos your real numbers and your real voice rather than your description of them. Add samples on the Voice tab.

  2. Then content topics, because Explore in Videos depends on them.

  3. The four written sections can be rough at first. They are easy to sharpen once you have seen what Vamos does with them.
