Manage and secure access to the WAX API with your Bearer Token

What the Bearer Token is for

The Bearer Token is a secret key specific to your organization. It proves to WAX that it's really you, or a system you authorized, calling the API, and not someone else. Without this token in the request, the API denies access to your data.

When you need it

You only need this token when an external system calls the WAX API to read or write data. It's the opposite of an outgoing Webhook: with an outgoing Webhook, WAX sends data to a third-party tool (Zapier, Make, your CRM), and that tool handles its own authentication, not this Bearer Token.

Where to find it

Your Bearer Token is available in your settings:

How to use it

Add the token to the Authorization header of every request sent to the WAX API:

Authorization: Bearer {{bearer_token}}

⚠️ Check the exact format expected before using this example: some APIs require the word Bearer hard-coded before the token (as above), others already include it in the copied value.

Security

🔒 This token gives full access to your account through the API. Never share it publicly. If you suspect a leak, regenerate it immediately from the same page by clicking "Reset Token": the old token will stop working.

Learn more

This page lets you get and manage your token. For the full list of available endpoints, request/response formats and rate limits, see the API technical documentation.
