When you install the WAX module on your PrestaShop store, your customers, orders and carts are automatically sent to WAX. You can then trigger your WhatsApp and RCS automations on your store's events (order placed, abandoned cart, shipment confirmed) without setting up a webhook yourself.
What the PrestaShop integration does
Import your contacts: your existing PrestaShop customer base is imported into WAX.
Sync orders and carts: every order and cart creation or update is sent to WAX in real time.
Native triggers: Post Purchase, Abandoned Checkout and Confirmed Shipment, with their data available as variables in your messages.
Recover abandoned carts: How do I follow up on an abandoned cart or payment on WhatsApp/RCS?
Send order tracking: How do I let a customer track their order on WhatsApp/RCS?
Engage your customers after purchase (referral, reviews…): How do I encourage a happy customer to refer friends and family?
Before you start: what you need to know
Back-office access: the installation requires access to the PrestaShop back office with the rights to upload and install a module (Modules > Module Manager). Some agencies or providers restrict this access: check with the person in charge of your site beforehand.
PrestaShop version: tell your CSM your PrestaShop version before the installation.
No history: only new events (order and cart creation or update) are sent. Orders and carts from before the module was installed aren't retrieved.
Fields not sent: some fields aren't sent by PrestaShop, such as the last order date (last order date). So you can't use it, for example, in a conditional split.
Step 1️⃣: Connect PrestaShop to WAX
If you haven't already, create your WAX account: see I have a PrestaShop store.
Contact your WAX CSM to get the module's ZIP file.
In your PrestaShop back office, go to Modules > Module Manager > Upload a module.
Upload the ZIP file, then click Install.
Set up the module with the connection settings provided by your CSM.
💡 Need help with the installation? Your CSM can set up a call with our PrestaShop expert. Make sure someone with admin access to your back office attends.
Once the module is installed, your WAX account is linked to your store: your contacts, orders and carts start syncing.
Step 2️⃣: Use PrestaShop in your automations
On your automation's trigger, choose PrestaShop as the source, then the event that should start the flow. The event's data is then available in the variable picker of your messages.
Available triggers and their variables
Post Purchase: an order has been placed. Variables:
order_id,order_created_at,order_line_items_count,subtotal_price,total_line_items_price,order_external_product_ids,external_customer_id…Abandoned Checkout: a customer created a cart without completing their order. Variables:
checkout_url(link to resume the cart),checkout_id,subtotal_price,total_line_items_price,external_product_ids…Confirmed Shipment: the order's shipment is confirmed. Variables:
reference,tracking_company(carrier),tracking_url(tracking link).
⚠️ Back in stock, product returns and other events aren't sent natively by the module. For these cases, use an Incoming Webhook trigger sent from your store or your tool: see Set a trigger from an external tool.
Tips
Make the phone number required in your checkout: WAX identifies your customers by their number, and without it no message can be sent.
Point your buttons to the right variables: the reminder button to
checkout_url, the tracking button totracking_url.Test with a real order (and a real abandoned cart) placed with your own number before turning on a flow: Test an automation.
Your contacts' language: outside Shopify, WAX infers a contact's language from their phone number's country code. Fill it in on the contact record if you know it. See How does WAX send your messages in your contacts' language?
Before updating PrestaShop, let your CSM know so they can check the module's compatibility with your new version.
