Special Built Form Settings

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Special built form settings fine-tune how a geometry stacks and how it shows in 3D. Use them to get floor-to-floor heights and facade costs right, or to show a podium, canopy, or massing study the way you need it.

Open the special built form settings

  1. Select a geometry on the map.

  2. Find the Built Form group.

  3. Click the Advanced built-form settings button at the top of the group.

The same settings are in the Built Form group of the Usage Editor. Set them there to apply them to every geometry with that usage.

Slab Thickness

Slab Thickness sets the thickness of each floor slab.

Top Thickness

Top Thickness sets the thickness of the top slab. It changes appearance only.

Force Stack

Force Stack controls whether a geometry stacks on top of other stackable geometries.

  • Default: use the value from the geometry's usage.

  • Always: always stack on other geometries.

  • Never: never stack on other geometries.

No Facades

Tick No Facades to leave a geometry out of facade cost and solar facade analysis. The geometry still casts a shadow.

Hide Floors

Tick Hide Floors to hide a geometry's floors on the map.

Hide Verticals

Tick Hide Verticals to hide the vertical walls of an extruded geometry. This setting only applies when No Facades is ticked.
