Project Settings holds everything about the project itself, rather than what's drawn on the map: its name, units, boundary, thumbnail, saved copies, and cleanup tools.
Open Project Settings
Open the Project menu in the top bar and choose Project Settings.
It opens as a panel tab.
Everything in Project Settings saves automatically, like the rest of the project. Name and description save when you click away.
Name and description
Click the project name at the top to rename it.
Type in Description to add notes about the project.
Thumbnail
Giraffe makes the project's thumbnail from the map. To use your own image, click Upload tile. To change it, click Change tile. To go back to the map thumbnail, click Use map.
Project boundary
Click Edit Project Boundary to open the boundary editor. See Edit the Boundary.
Use as a template
Click Use as template to share the project as a template for yourself, your teams, or your whole workspace. See Manage Templates.
Templates are available on Team and Enterprise plans.
Mobile View
Click Generate mobile view to make a version of the project for phones. The Mobile View section shows when it was last updated.
Mobile View is available on Enterprise plans.
Project Settings tabs
Hover over a tab name to see what it holds.
Workspace: the workspace property values your workspace admin has set up, some of which may be required. Enterprise plans only.
Setup: the project's units, currency symbol, area acronyms, basemap style, site area, and coordinate system. Project Setup explains each one and when to change it.
Attachments: files attached to the project.
Snapshots and Backups: saved copies of the project you can open as a new project. Edit a Project explains how to save, restore, and load them. Backups are available on Team and Enterprise plans.
Other: any other properties added to the project.
Site Area uses the boundary's area unless you type a different value.
Clean up the project
Projects collect things you no longer use as a design changes. Click Purge unused to delete empty draw layers and unused usages, flows, blocks, scenarios, and properties in one go.
To delete just one kind, click More... and choose an option. Each one shows how many items it will delete. More... also has:
Clear analytics: deletes every measure, category, tab, and custom unit.
Reset all usage data…: replaces every usage with Giraffe's defaults.
🚨 Warning: Cleanup can't be undone. Save a snapshot first if you might want something back.
Delete the project
Click Delete project under Danger zone, then confirm. Only project admins can delete a project.
🚨 Warning: Deleting a project can't be undone.
