Block Properties

Blocks include a few special properties

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Blocks have a few special properties. When you select a block instance on the map, the properties palette displays the Block section.

  1. Block Name

Select a different block from the dropdown to change the selection to a different definition. An instance with no block shows Select a block....

Hover the field to show two buttons. Open block manager opens the block in the Blocks app. Remove property removes the block from the selected geometry.

  2. Edit Block

  3. Scale

Scales the block by a multiplier. The default is 1, which is the original size. Enter 2 to double the size or 0.5 to halve it. Scale changes width and length. Heights stay the same. The value changes in steps of 0.1.

  4. Rotation

Rotate the block by degrees, around the block origin. A positive value turns the block counterclockwise.

  5. Base Height

A special version of base Heigh for blocks.

Forces the entire block to sit at the defined base height.

Base Heights defined within the block become relative.

  6. Mirror

Mirror the block along the N/S axis by the block origin point. The axis turns with the block, so a rotated block mirrors along its own rotated axis.

Control how a block instance's properties reach the geometries inside it with block property propagation.
