Offline donations — what they are and how to add one

What an offline donation is on givestar, how to add one to your fundraising page, and how the funds are handled.

An offline donation is money you've received outside of givestar — for example cash, a cheque, a bank transfer, or company matched funding — that you'd like to record on your fundraising page so your total reflects everything you've raised.

Important: Offline donations do not process any payment through givestar. They are simply a record added to your page to keep your fundraising total accurate.

How to add an offline donation

Offline donations can't be added directly through your fundraising page — you'll need to contact our support team to have one recorded. To do this as quickly as possible, please include the following in your message:

  • Your fundraising page link

  • The amount to add

  • The currency

  • Donor name (optional)

  • A short note on the source (e.g. cash collection, cheque, matched funding)

  • The date the funds were paid or received

Once added, your fundraising total will update shortly.

Does the money go through givestar?

No. Offline donations are a record only — the funds are not processed or held by givestar. You are responsible for ensuring the money reaches the charity directly.
