Introduction
This is one of the main articles of Golfmanager, in which we will explain what a user is and what they are for.
A system administrator or user is the person employed by the club who will operate in the back office of Golfmanager: make reservations, store sales, etc.
Not to be confused with a user of the golf course, our client. Therefore, an administrator (system user) will make reservations for customers (players).
The ideal is to have one administrator for each employee for two reasons:
Each new record or change will be reflected with that user, so it will be useful to know who did this, or change that.
You will be able to assign a role to each user (permissions), so you will be able to control what they can and cannot do in the back office.
The user, when entering the Golfmanager back office, will be asked for a username (email) and password.
General
To create a user, follow these steps:
Photo: Here you can optionally select a photo for this employee. If you add a picture it will be displayed at the top right when logging in.
Name: Here we fill in the employee's name. It will help us to see in the listings who has done one thing or changed another.
Email: Here we will put the employee's email, which will be very important because it will be the one used to enter Golfmanager. It is not mandatory to have a valid email, as Golfmanager does not verify it. So, if your employee doesn't have a company email or doesn't want to use his personal one, you can make it up. But it is useful to have a real email in case the employee needs to recover the password.
Password: Here we can set a password for this account. When logging into Golfmanager you will be asked to identify yourself with your email (selected in the previous step) and this password.
IP Addresses: Optionally you can limit the access of this employee to Golfmanager from a single computer. If you do not want the employee to access Golfmanager from home, this field may be useful. To do this you need to find out the IP of their work computer and put it in this field.
Superuser: Checking this option will give this user access to the whole system. Normally this option is activated for one or two employees, who manage very well and will be responsible for the Golfmanager system. If you activate this option, it is not necessary to associate a role to this user because the system will allow him/her to access and do everything. If you do not activate it, when you save the page, a "Role" section will appear to assign the permissions you want. To do this you will have to previously create the different roles or permissions.
Is API: This option will only be activated for third party software that will connect via API to your system, and always under your authorization. These will need a system user with permissions to be able to connect both softwares. For example Priswing, Visualgolf, etc.
Read only: If you activate this option, the user will be able to enter Golfmanager but will not be able to do anything, only see the pages. This option is usually activated for managers who only want to enter the program to view reports, but it is better not to touch anything just in case.
Interface
Start URL: In Golfmanager we can optionally choose which page we want the user to land on when entering Golfmanager. This will be the home page for this user. If left empty, the user will land on the reservation or TPV page, depending on the club. This field is mainly used for golf teachers, who we want to land on their lesson app. For this we will put their link: /admin/school/teacherView.
Also interesting is this functionality for accounting users, who we want to land to a specific report or listing. Or to force the user to see a list of debts, or birthdays. when entering the system. This way, it will be more difficult to forget to check certain important listings.
Show links to relationships: We recommend activating this option for expert users of the program. What this feature will do is to convert certain data in listings into shortcuts. For example, in the sales list, we will see that one of the fields is the product that we have sold. This product will appear in blue and it means that if we click on it we will go to the configuration page of that product. That is why this is dangerous, because it is easy to change the system configuration with this option enabled.
Roles
Once we save the user, the Role section will appear at the bottom of the screen, where we will associate to this user the permissions of what he/she can or cannot do in Golfmanager.
Role: In the dropdown we will select the Role for this user, which we have previously configured in Configuration / Security / Roles.
