Q1. What data areas are changing?
We’ve refreshed Feeding & Medication instructions to include clearer fields and more flexible options:
Description: Medication name now required
Amount & Unit: Added new units (Scoop, Capsule, Packet, etc.)
Time of Day: Expanded to include Lunch, Bedtime, and As Needed
Frequency: Simplified to “Daily” or “Scheduled”
All feeding instructions will be Daily
“Scheduled” allows adding specific dates the instruction applies
Service Type: Instructions can now link directly to service types (Boarding, Daycare, Grooming, Meet & Greet)
Active/Inactive Toggle: Turn instructions on/off without deleting them
Edit Behavior: Any edit to an instruction applies across all invoices (past, current, future), with a warning shown before saving
Q2. What functionality is changing?
Feeding & Medication instructions have been moved from the general pet profile into a dedicated section, accessible throughout Goose.
New Feeding & Medication Section Functionality:
View and manage instructions from Pet Details, Booking Flow, or Invoice Management
Create, edit, remove, or toggle active/inactive instructions
View pre-registration info alongside current instructions
See all pets on an invoice in one consolidated view
Feeding & Medication Task Reporting Logic:
Daily instructions: Apply automatically to each day of the stay (including arrival and departure)
Scheduled instructions: Apply only to specified dates when the pet has an invoice
Instructions appear only when their service type matches the invoice’s service type
Each time of day (AM, Lunch, PM, Bedtime, As Needed) appears on its own line
Filtering options:
Time of day
Service type
Pet tags
“Here” or “Not Here”
Sort by space
Run Card Updates
Cleaner, easier-to-read layout
Emergency contact and vet information now included
Daily task checkboxes added for completion tracking
Q3. Is any functionality being removed?
Yes — the First Dose field has been removed for now.
We plan to revisit this with deeper functionality once task completion tracking is released.
In the meantime, you can note first-dose details directly in the Run Card or as special instructions.
Q4. Will existing data look different?
Your data will remain intact.
We’ve added boarding/daycare/grooming designations to all existing Feeding & Med instructions.
The only field removed is First Dose.
If you need to preserve specific first-dose notes, we recommend moving them to run cards, run card alerts, or care instructions
