Customer Calendar View

Every visit, at a glance — your pet owners can now see their past, present, and upcoming bookings on one familiar calendar.

Why We Built This

A list is great for details, but hard for quick information around upcoming bookings. Until now, your pet owners have viewed their bookings as a list. That works for finding one specific visit, but it makes everyday questions harder to answer: When is my next stay? Was my upcoming request scheduled? How do my two dogs' bookings overlap? How long has it been since our last groom?

Those questions get even harder on a phone, which is where most pet owners check their bookings.

So we added a calendar view to the bookings page. Each booking shows up as a single pill that spans the length of the visit, so your pet owners can understand their schedule in seconds and tap straight into the details when they need them.

What It Means for You

  • A more modern experience to offer your pet owners. A calendar is something every pet owner already knows how to read, so your booking portal feels familiar and polished from the first visit.

  • Pet owners can answer their own schedule questions. Dates, stay lengths, and service types are visible at a glance, so "When is my booking?" is easier to answer without a call to your front desk.

  • Multi-pet households see everything in one place. Bookings for every pet appear together, so overlapping stays and back-to-back visits are easy to spot.

  • Built for on-the-go. The calendar is optimized for mobile, with a tap-a-day view that shows everything booked on a given date.

  • Nothing taken away. The list view is still there for pet owners who prefer it, now with new Service Type and Status filters.

How It Works

The calendar shows one month at a time. Each invoice appears as one pill, not one per pet, stretching across every day of the visit: a boarding stay for two dogs from Friday to Monday is a single pill spanning Fri–Mon, while a daycare day or groom sits on a single date. The pill's color shows the booking's status, and its icon (plus a text label, where space allows) shows the service type.

  • Switch to Calendar view. From the Bookings page, pet owners can switch between the List and Calendar views and use whichever they prefer.

  • Read the pills. Pill length shows how long the visit is, and the icon and label show the service (on mobile, the icon alone). Color shows status:

    • Blue: Booked, Scheduled

    • Green: Checked-in

    • Red: Canceled, Declined

    • Grey: Checked Out, Sold

  • Tap a day for details. For mobile users, selecting a date opens a pop-out listing every booking on that day.

  • Open a booking. Clicking a pill takes the pet owner to the same invoice page they reach from the list view today, where they can see the exact status and all the same actions.

  • Filter the list. Prefer the list? New Service Type and Status filters make it quicker to find a specific booking.

A Few Things to Know

  • The calendar matches the bookings list, so every invoice type appears. One-time purchases like retail or membership payments show as grey "Sold" pills.

  • Waitlist requests stay in their own Waitlist tab and don't appear on the calendar, so they're never mistaken for a confirmed booking.

  • If a grooming booking doesn't have a date set yet, it appears on its purchase date, the same date shown in the list view today.

  • On busy days, the calendar expands to fit every booking rather than cutting off at a fixed number. A heavy day can make that week's row taller.

  • If a booking's dates or status change, its pill updates to match the invoice.

  • The calendar shows bookings only. Business hours, closed days, and blackout dates aren't displayed, so continue reaching out to affected pet owners directly.

  • Staff views aren't changing. This is a pet-owner-facing update only, with no changes to reporting, payments, or deposits.

  • This release includes a month view. A week view, "Add to Calendar" export (Google Calendar, iCal), and a mobile-optimized invoice page are scoped for a future version.
