The Diary tab in the GreenCast Connect (GCX) mobile app provides a clear, chronological record of past conditions, alerts, and activities related to your turf and soil management.
Previously known as the Events tab, the Diary has been redesigned to make historical information easier to review, filter, and understand—independent of push notification settings.
Navigating the Events Tab
Date Navigation:
The current date is displayed at the top of the screen.
Click through previous days to view events for specific dates.
The Diary always shows past events only, even if push notifications are turned off.
Viewing Daily Events
Each day’s events are listed in chronological order and may include the following based on user preference:
Sensor Data
Historical records of soil moisture, temperature, and salinity
Logged when values exceeded or dropped below defined thresholds
Weather Conditions
Past weather events such as heavy rain, frost, high humidity, or heat
Pest Risk
Logged pest risk levels (moderate or higher) based on conditions at that time
Growth Potential
Recorded growth conditions based on temperature and environmental factors
GDD (Growing Degree Days)
Historical GDD values and growth-related insights
Notes
User-added notes documenting observations, tasks, or reminders
Photos attached to notes appear directly in the Diary for visual context
Diary vs Push Notifications
Diary entries
Always historical
Visible regardless of notification settings
Serve as a permanent activity log
Push notifications
Focus on future risks and predicted conditions
Controlled through Notification Settings
Delivered based on thresholds and work schedule
Diary text now explicitly reflects this distinction to improve clarity.
Filtering Events
You can customize what appears in your Diary:
Tap the filter (funnel) icon in the top-right corner
Select one or more categories:
Pest Risk
GDD (Growing Degree Days)
Weather
Growth Potential
Sensor Data
Notes
Tap Apply Filter
To remove filters:
Tap Reset at the top-right of the Filter page
Filtering affects only what you see on the Diary page and does not change notification settings.
Unread Indicators
New or unread diary entries may appear with a red dot
A numbered red dot at the bottom of the screen indicates the total number of unread entries
Duplicate entries are now automatically removed to keep the Diary clean and readable.
Clearing Notifications
To manage unread items:
Clear a single entry: Swipe the entry to the right
Clear multiple entries: Tap the eraser icon in the top-right corner and choose:
Clear All Unread – Marks all entries as read
Keep All Unread – Leaves unread entries unchanged
Clearing entries does not delete historical data—it only updates read status.
Adding Notes
You can manually log observations at any time:
Tap the plus (+) button in the bottom-right corner
Enter your note text
Optionally attach a photo
Save the note
The note is added to the Diary for that day as a historical entry.
