When scheduling lawn care services with your free GreenPal account, understanding the cost breakdown is crucial to ensure there are no surprises with whoever you hire. Here’s what you need to know about how pricing works and what it includes.

What Do These Lawn Care Company's Quotes Cover?

Services That They Include For You

The quotes you receive from lawn care companies who pay to market their company on GreenPal typically cover your basic yard services for both your front and back yards. Their services include:

  • Mowing your front and back yards

  • Trimming grass around obstacles (weed-eating)

  • Edging along driveways and sidewalks

  • Blowing off clippings from surfaces after mowing

Billing Details

The lawn company you hire will bill you directly per each service visit. This means each time your lawn care company comes out and completes your mowing, the fee they quoted you is charged directly to the card you entered in their Stripe Card Processor account after each service.

It's important to note that GreenPal does not bill your card as the lawn care company you hire will bill your card directly via their Card Processor they linked to their GreenPal account.

Additional Costs and Services

  • Grass Height: Generally speaking, If any part of your yard has grass taller than 8" to 10", the lawn service you hire may charge a surcharge, typically around 50% of the quoted price, for your initial mowing to manage the extra growth.

  • Extra Services: While GreenPal does not directly control what's included in their services, it's been our experience that bagging grass clippings is not included in their free quotes. If you require this service or any additional yard work such as leaf removal, bed maintenance, or other landscaping services, then they can quote that extra yard work for you when they are familiar with your property.

  • Typically, prices for these services are based on what GreenPal has seen from the community of lawn care services that pay to market their company on the GreenPal network.

    • Leaf removal: Approximately 3x times their regular mowing price.

    • Bed maintenance: Approx additional $30 - $50 on top of your regular mowing fee.

Special Considerations

  • Service Preferences: Once you've sent out a bid request to service providers, you cannot change your preferences for that bid. This means if you need changes, you must discuss them directly with your service provider once they start.

  • Seasonal Commitments: Lawn care companies who pay to market their lawn service on the GreenPal network do not take on single service visits, only ongoing bookings for your entire season lasting until the end of your mowing season in late fall (around October or November).

Clarifying Pricing Questions

It's important to note that GreenPal does not set any pricing from the lawn care services that you can hire with your free account.

Each independent lawn care service manages its own business, sets its own prices, and operates a little differently. When you hire one, you pay them directly through its embedded credit card processor, and GreenPal does not have any control over the pricing or terms that the lawn care services offer.
