Reading Your Rate Prediction

Widgets
Greenscreens includes several tools or "widgets" designed to support decision-making and rate negotiation.
Here are a few tips on making widgets work for you:
You can simplify your view by checking Hide Empty Widgets, which will hide any widget with no relevant data to show:
Hovering over a date or load in a Greenscreens.ai widget brings up more in-depth information:
The Short and Long Term History, Recent Bids, Recent Quotes, and Top Carrier widgets have a toggle at the upper right that you can use to set a geographical area. You can view only the 5-digit ZIP codes for the lane in the rate prediction (Lane), or widen the range to include 3-digit ZIP codes (3d ZIP) or the general market area (Mkt). A market area is defined as a collection of 3-digit ZIP codes surrounding a major city or economic center.
A green dot on the toggle tells you that there is data available at that geographical level:
Network Lane Prediction and Similar Lanes
The Network Lane Prediction widget shows you the expected rate in the market.
The rate here comes from the Greenscreens.ai network and is not specific to your brokerage. It can be lower or higher than the target rate, depending on how your brokerage books freight on the underlying lane or similar lanes.
Similar Lanes
In the Network Rate widget, you can also toggle on Similar Lanes, which shows lanes from the GS Network that have features in common with the lane in the prediction.
You can toggle the Similar Lanes widget off an on with the button below the graph.
Short Term History
The Short Term History widget shows relevant short term historical data for the last 7, 15 and 30 days.
The large text in this section represents the average rate for the lane in this time period. The dots on the graph represent actual loads. The bigger and bolder the dot, the more activity the area has seen.
Long Term History
The Long Term History widget graphically shows a minimum, maximum, and average rate and number of reports for the last 12 months. It includes both market rates and your own historical data.
Recent Bids
The Recent Bids Widget shows the last 10 bids received from carriers for the route.
The toggle on the upper right lets you view a wider geographical area, and a green dot on a toggle button means there is data available to view. You can add a new bid right from the widget by clicking +Add Bid. To add a bid for a particular carrier, click the corresponding green $ icon.
Recent Quotes
The Recent Quotes widget shows the last 10 quotes sent to customers through Greenscreens.ai, along with the status of each bid (Won, Lost, or Expired).
As with the Recent Bids widget, you can select the geography level for which you want to view quotes, and a green dot tells you that there is data available at that level.
Top Carriers
Top Carriers are carriers from your network who have moved the load for your brokerage over the past 60 days.
The list represents carriers in your network who may be eligible to move a new load for you. The toggle at the top right lets you change the geographical range for the list, so you can see carriers who might have moved loads for you in the general area. A green dot on a toggle button means that data is available at that level. You can request a bid from one or all carriers right from the widget by clicking the green dollar sign next their name.
Negotiation Coach
The Negotiation Coach provides a quick summary of conditions that might affect rates, such as current events, load history, market dynamics, and holidays, to help you negotiate with customers and carriers.
Information is presented in the Negotiation Coach in ordinary language, so if you find yourself negotiating over the phone, you can just read it right off the widget. It covers various factors that you can use to negotiate favorable rates with both shippers and carriers.
Lane Analytics
The Lane Analytics widget shows several KPIs for the selected lane based on your historical data - cover time, lead time, transit window, and average margin.
