Requesting a Carrier Bid

Send a bid request through Greenscreens

Updated over a week ago

Overview

You can request, add and manage carrier bids directly from the Greenscreens app. Carriers can respond through links in the request email. When the carrier responds, you'll get an email notification.

You can view the status of your bid requests and track your overall success with bid requests on the Bids tab.

Requesting a Bid through Capacity on Tap

If you're requesting a bid from a carrier or Capacity Partner you've worked with recently, you can send a bid request from Capacity on Tap on the Rates tab. This is a convenient way to request a bid, as the system will automatically fill in the details from your rate prediction. If you work with a capacity partner included in Capacity on Tap, you can request a bid from any the carriers listed on their tab right from the widget, just as you would with one of your Top Carriers.

  1. On the Rates tab, enter your lane details and click Get Rate.

  2. Scroll down to Capacity on Tap.

    • To request a bid from a single carrier, click their adjacent dollar sign icon:

    • To request bids from all carriers for whom you have contact info, click Request Bid from All:

  3. Fill out any necessary remaining fields in the Request Bid form. You can add more carriers or remove them in the Carriers field, or copy and paste in a list of carriers:

  4. Click Request.

The carrier or carriers will receive an email from Greenscreens.ai, and all requested bids will appear in "Bids" tab at the top of your screen with a “Sent” status.

Requesting a Bid Under the Rate Prediction

You can request a bid from all carriers you've worked with recently through a link right under your rates prediction.

  1. On the Rates tab, right under your MarkUp, click Request Bid. (Note that the adjacent button with the plus sign will add a bid rather than requesting one.)

  2. Fill out any necessary details on the Request Bid form. You can add and remove carriers in the Carriers field, or copy and paste in a list of carriers:

  3. Click Request.

Requesting a Bid through the Bids Tab

The third way to request a bid is through the Bids tab, where your bid requests are tracked.

  1. Click the Bids tab:

  2. Click Request Bid:

  3. Fill in any necessary details on the Request Bid form. You can add or remove carriers in the Carriers field, or copy and paste in a list of carriers:

  4. Click Request.

Copying Carrier Emails

If you'd rather send a bid request directly through email, you can still take advantage of Greenscreens' carrier information by copying carrier email addresses from the Request Bid window and pasting them into your email. This works with both Top Carriers and capacity partners.

In the Request Bid window, just click Copy Emails. Only the email addresses will be copied to your clipboard. You can paste them directly into your email.

Keep in mind that if you copy and paste the emails into another client, Greenscreens will not keep track of the bid. If you want to copy emails and track the bid in Greenscreens, here's a trick you can use:

  1. Copy the emails from the Request Bid window as pictured above.

  2. Delete the email addresses from the Request Bid window and enter your own email address.

  3. Open your email and find the bid request.

  4. Forward the email to the copied addresses.

Adding a New Carrier Contact

To add a new carrier:

  1. Request a bid.

  2. Enter the contact's email address in the Carriers field of the Request Bid form.

  3. Click the pop-up containing the email address:

Carrier Email and Response

When you request a bid from a carrier, they'll receive an email with the details. The carrier can respond with a bid directly from the email. It's quick and easy, and the bid will automatically appear on your bids tab.

When the carrier opens the email, they'll see the details of your request along with a button that says Provide Bid:

The Provide Bid button will take the carrier to a page where they can enter details:

When the carrier submits a bid, you'll receive an email notification, and the bid will automatically appear on the Bids tab with a status of Received:
