Importing Tasks in GSMTasks

#1 Click on Tasks at the top of your screen

#2 On the next page, click on Import on the right

#3 Now, choose how to import your Excel file:
Drag&drop the document or select from files

πŸ“Œ You can import Excel documents (.xlsx format)

#4 The next step is Data mapping

πŸ“Œ Data mapping is the process of mapping data fields from the source file to their related target fields in GSMtasks so that the app could understand given information

Open the drop-down menu under column To Field and choose the corresponding field name.

πŸ“Œ The only mandatory information is the address (other information you provide for the driver is optional).

πŸ“Œ If you add the contact ID then all the contact information will be auto-filled!

πŸ“Œ Set a date for all import tasks!

Check out more about contacts:

If you have successfully finished data mapping, scroll down and click
Review Import on the bottom left.

#5 Now, review your import and click on Import tasks

πŸ“Œ If your first row contains the Excel documents columns' names, tick the Skip First Row button

#6 You have now imported all your tasks. Click on View Tasks to see them on the map!

πŸ“Œ If you have given assignees to the tasks on your document, they will be assigned to the drivers. If no, the tasks will go to the unassigned column.

Optional Optimization through Importing

#1 Click on Optimize Import to proceed with optimizing your tasks

#2 Fill out the needed information according to your necessities, the information can be set as default under settings!

πŸ“Œ You can choose to Preview your optimization before committing to it

πŸ“Œ If you're happy with the optimization, click on Optimize at the bottom left

The optimization has now been completed!

πŸ“Œ If you click on View Optimization, another tab will open with Route Optimization reports

Errors in Data Mapping ❗

πŸ”Ί Red triangle behind the address

This either means that Google needs a bit more time to locate the right address on the map or it can't find it - you can wait about 30 seconds or so to see if the triangle disappears.

If not, right-click on the task and choose Edit task to make changes to the address.
