The screen-recording feature is only available on the desktop app, so make sure you have the desktop app downloaded.
To start, press the Create button on the left panel and select Screen-recording when you are on the main Messenger Pigeon page/dashboard.
This will bring you to the screen-recording screen. The first thing you want to check is your Recording Settings before you start the recording because you will not be able to edit it when the recording is in progress.
Press the Settings Gear icon.
You will then see a pop up where you toggle on System Audio, microphone and the resolution of the screen you are about to record. The higher the resolution, the longer it will take the session to save and upload.
Make sure you press Apply after you choose your settings.
IMPORTANT: Make sure System Audio is on if you want the sound from your online class to be recorded. This also ensures that the audio will be recorded even if you have earphones in.
You will know that your lecture audio is being recorded with your screen because you will see the audio visualizer on your recording screen jump up and down when the recording has commenced.
When you press Start Recording, a pop up will appear, asking you to select the screen or window you'll want to record.
Once you choose your screen, click Share. And the recording will start. You will know it has started because your chosen screen will appear on the main recording panel.
Once your session is done, press Finish Recording, give your session a title and keep your app open so the file uploads. Note that screen-recordings can take up to a couple of hours to upload depending on how long the session is and the resolution that you have chosen in the settings.
If you have another recording to make right after that class, you may have to wait to finish the upload after. Make sure your app is open and your computer connected to strong internet.
