If you are just recording audio for a session, check to make sure there is activity on the audio visualizer before you hit the Start Recording button. It looks like this on both the web and desktop app:
The same goes for the mobile. You will know that sound is being recorded when you see the bars moving up and down.
The primary audio input tool is your computer's microphone, so make sure you choose the right one by hitting the settings/gear icon on the audio recording bar.
If you are recording audio from a video or source from a browser and you are using MP Web, make sure you are using two different types of browsers to record the audio. For example, if you have MP Web open on Chrome, your audio source/video should be open on another "brand" of browser like Firefox etc.
Sound on Screen-recordings
If you are recording a screen-recorded session (only on the desktop app), make sure you have your system audio toggled on. This is important because that is the tool that records the sound from any app on your computer, even if you have earphones in.
If you are on a Windows computer and you are selecting a screen to record, make sure you turn this toggle on. Then pick the screen you want to share.
If you are on a Mac, just make sure you also have System Audio turned on in the settings (click the gear icon on the floating recording bar).
When you are on the recording screen, you know your System Audio has been set up correctly because you see the bars jumping up and down under hte System audio section.
