If you are using the version on desktop (macOS, Windows) or browser, this collection can guide you better: Use Habitify Desktop & Web App.
To begin tracking your habits with Habitify, you'll first define your habits and then log your progress.
1. Understanding a Good Habit in Habitify
A good habit in Habitify is defined as a behavior you perform regularly, often unconsciously, that helps you become a better version of yourself by improving productivity, health, or overall well-being. Incorporating these positive habits can lead to a more structured and fulfilling routine, contributing to long-term success and happiness.
2. Adding a New Good Habit
To create a new positive habit on the phone app:
Go to the Journal tab.
Tap the "+" button on the date bar.
Choose "Create good habit".
You can select from pre-made templates and adjust them, or create a custom habit from scratch.
3. Setting Up Your Habit's Properties
When setting up a habit, you'll modify several key properties:
Icon & Name: This helps you navigate your habit list visually and textually. You can search for icons or let the app suggest one based on the habit name. You can also assign a color to the icon, which becomes the theme color for the habit's progress view.
Repeat: This sets how often your habit appears on your journal view as "today's list". You can set habits to repeat on specific days of the week, by an interval of days, or on a specific date in a month. Habitify supports high-frequency activities, at least once a month.
Goal: This defines what you aim to achieve daily, weekly, or monthly, and helps you know when you've completed your habit. For custom habits, you can choose "time" as a unit or customize a new unit.
Start Date: This is the first date you begin tracking your habit, and it's when the habit will start appearing in your Journal. You can even choose a date in the past to record previous achievements.
Reminders (Optional but Recommended): You can set up notifications to help you remember your habits. These include the timers to remind you by time, based on your location, or based on your status on other habits (habit-stacking).
4. Tracking Your Progress
Once your habits are set up, they will appear on the Journal tab based on your start date and repeat settings. The Journal tab is the main place for your daily tracking. There are several ways to record progress on a habit:
Smart Button: A quick button to the left of each habit allows for immediate logging. This button changes based on your goal (e.g., "Done" for 1-time goals, "β 1" for multiple times, "Timer" for duration-based goals, or "Log" for others).
Swipe Right: Swipe the habit to the right to mark it as Complete or tap "Log Progress" to enter any specific value.
Swipe Left: Swipe the habit to the left to mark it as "Failed" (when you planned to do it but couldn't) or "Skipped" (when you don't schedule it, perhaps due to sickness or holiday).
Long Press: A long press on the habit will show all available options.
5. Viewing Your Progress
You can log your progress on the Journal view and track your overall progress in the Progress tab for all habits, or in the Single Progress view for each individual habit. Key metrics you can see include:
Current Streak: The continues day chains that your habit is completed.
Success: Number of days you achieved your goal.
Failed: Number of days you marked as failed.
Skipped: Number of days you marked as skipped.
Total: The total amount or number of times you've completed the habit, aligned with your goal's unit.
The app also provides visual representations like a calendar view and a column chart to show performance trends. You can even share your progress with others to boost accountability.
