What is a good habit?

In Habitify, a habit is a behavior that you perform regularly, often unconsciously. It can be a simple action like drinking water or a more complex routine like exercising daily. A good habit is one that helps you become a better version of yourself by improving your productivity, health, or overall well-being.

This quick guide will walk you through the essential settings to create your first habit in just a few taps. We'll use one of our pre-made templates to make it even faster.

Step 1: Choose a Habit Template

From the main Journal screen, tap the β€˜+’ icon. Browse our gallery of popular habits (like "Read a Book" or "Drink Water") and tap on a template to begin. This pre-fills some information for you.

Step 2: Set the Schedule (Repeat)

Tap on "Repeat" to decide how often you want the habit to appear on your list. You can choose Daily, specific days of the week (like Mon, Wed, Fri), or a custom Interval (like every 3 days).

Step 3: Define Your Goal

Tap on "Goal" to define what "success" means. You can choose:

  • Completion Only: Set the goal as "1 time per day"

  • Numerical Goal: A specific number, like 30 minutes or 2 liters.

Step 4: Add a Reminder

Tap on "Reminder" to set a time-based notification. This is one of the most important steps to help you stay consistent, so don't skip it!

Step 5: Pick a Start Date

The start date is the first date you begin tracking your habit. The habit only appears in the Journal since the start date.

By default, habits start today. If you're planning ahead, tap "Start Date" to select a different day for your habit

Once you're happy with these core settings, tap "Save". That's it! Your new habit is ready to go.
