How to create a Yearly habit

A monthly habit is a habit that has the goal set for the whole year.

In the habit settings, you will set the goal as [number] [unit] per year.

Currently, there are no settings for leveling the goal for each day.

View yearly habits on Journal

On the Journal view, when your yearly habit is incomplete, it is categorized in the section This Year.

Still, the appearance of your yearly habit is depending on the repeat setting.

Track progress of yearly habit

To log your progress on a yearly habit, you can take the same steps as you do when checking in on a daily habit.

Your habit will remain incomplete and you will continue to receive reminders on it until the goal per year is completed.

View the progress of a yearly habit

When you tap on your yearly habit, there is a Single progress view on its progress will appear, showing you the detailed break-down of how you're doing on your habit.

Current Yearly Streak

This tells you how many continuous years you have completed your habit.

Streak for the yearly habit is yearly-based. As long as you complete your goal per year, your streak is counted up. You do not need to check-in daily like with the daily-based streak.

Grid Report

Under the streak is a grid report which show your progress in the currently-viewing month or year:

  • Completion rate (Android): showing how long have you achieved against the goal of the year.

  • Success days (iOS): showing how many days in the year that you do the habit.

  • Failed: How many days you have marked the habit as failed.

  • Skipped: How many days you have marked the habit as skipped.

  • Total: A total value that you've logged on your habit in the currently-viewing month or year

How Success Days is Calculated (iOS)?

The number of success days increases when the goal is accomplished. Consequently,

  • If the goal per year is completed, success days will be the number of days of the whole uear.

For example: 2024 has 366 days, and 2025 has 365 days. If you complete the goal of both years, the total success days will be 731 days.

  • If the goal per year is incomplete, success days will be 0 days for the whole year.

Furthermore, if there are days marked with Skip or Fail, the total success days will be minus those days.

For example, if you achieve the yearly goal for 2024, then the total number of success days is 366 days. However, if you mark 40 days as Skipped and 20 days as Failed, then the total number is 306 days.

Calendar view

The calendar visually represents your habit progress in the month. Each day is marked with different symbols based on the status you check on your habit on that day:

  • A solid colored circle: you make progress on your habit

  • An right-headed arrow: you mark your habit as skipped

  • A black cross: you mark your habit as failed.

You can change the time range from a month to a year to view your progress throughout the year.

Trend chart

The trend chart gives you a powerful visual of your habit performance over time.

Under the chart, you can switch between Day, Week, Month, or Year. This lets you see your progress from a daily snapshot to a long-term trend.

When you select a time period, you'll see:

  • Your Performance Trend: Each column shows your total achievement for that period (for example, each day of the week or each month of the year).

  • Exact Details: Tap and hold any column to see the specific number you achieved for that single period.

  • Your Average: The chart also calculates your average achievement per period since you started the habit.

  • Dashed goal line: When you view the chart in Year view, you can see a dashed line which represents the goal you set for your habit. With this line, you can easily manage how you're doing against the goal.

View the Yearly habits in the Progress tab

In the Progress tab, for a yearly habit, you can see:

  • A progress bar which is showing your achievement of the currently-viewing period against the goal of the whole year.

  • Total: The total progress value you have achieved.

  • Skipped: The total number of days you have marked with Skip.

  • Failed: The total number of days you have marked with Fail.
