Troubleshooting: Steps Not Syncing via Health Connect

Current Status: Known Technical Issue

Our development team has identified a synchronization hurdle involving the Google Health Connect SDK. This is the software bridge provided by Google that allows Habitify to communicate with your device's health data.

Specifically, there is a verified bug within the SDK that affects how certain data types (like steps) are shared with third-party apps. This bug can prevent Habitify from accurately "reading" or pulling your latest step count, even if the data appears correctly within the Health Connect app itself.

What Habitify is Doing

We are monitoring Google's developer updates closely. As soon as Google releases a patched version of the Health Connect SDK, our team will prioritize an app update to integrate the fix and restore seamless syncing for all Android users.

Temporary Workaround: Manual Logging

To ensure your streaks remain active and your progress is recorded while we wait for the Google update, we recommend the following steps:

  1. Check your steps in Health Connect or your primary fitness app (like Google Fit or Samsung Health).

  2. Open Habitify at the end of your day.

  3. Manually log your total steps for the day to fulfill your habit goal.

Manual entries will still count toward your streaks and completion badges, ensuring your long-term progress is preserved until the automatic sync is restored.
