What is a bad habit?

A bad habit is a repeated activity that can have negative impacts on an individual's health, well-being, or productivity. Such as smoking, staying up late for quite a while, or spending too much time on video game.

Identifying and addressing a bad habit then planning to break it down is crucial for improving overall quality of life and achieving personal and professional goals.

Add a bad habit

To add a new bad habit to your tracking list, kindly follow the steps below:

  • Tap the "+" button on the bottom date bar of the Journal tab

  • Choose "Break Bad Habit"

  • We provide some habit templates; you can choose "Create Your Own".

Properties of bad habit

Goal

For bad habits, the goal is to limit or quit the behavior. So, choose from the following options:

  • No More Than: you set a limitation, and the goal is not to exceed this limit. Once your total logs exceed the limit, your habit will be marked as "Failed".

  • Quit This Habit: The goal is to avoid engaging in this habit completely. Any occurrence of the habit fails.

Start Date

Choose the date from which you want to save your progress on this bad habit in Habitify. Your habit also appears on the Journal view since this date.

Why no reminders?

For bad habits, one of our goals is to keep it away from you as much as we can so you don't think about it. Therefore, we decided that there would be no reminder for bad habits.
