Get started

To add habits, kindly click the blue button "+ Add habits" on the bottom action bar of the Journal view, then choose "Create Good Habit" or "Break Bad Habit."

Add a good habit

When you choose to create a good habit, a pop-up will appear for your setting-up as in the screenshot below:

Basically, the settings are familiar with the one on phone app, including:

  • Habit icon & color, and name

  • Repeat

  • Goal

  • Time of Day

  • Start Date

  • End Condition

  • Reminders (Time based, Location based, and Habit stacking)

  • Area

  • Checklist

Name, icon & color

Like on the phone app, you can choose to create a custom habit or pick from a pre-built habit list.

  • Click on the name panel to see pre-built habit templates as suggestions

  • Click the question mark to choose icon and color for your habit.

Repeat

The repeat setting will decide:

  • On which date your habit will appear in the List View

  • On which date your habit should be check-in or completed so your completion is counted to your current streak, especially a habit with goal per day.

You have several options that are categorized into 3 kinds:

  • Daily: you can configure further that on which day(s) of the week your habit should repeat.

  • Monthly: you can choose on which specific date(s) of the month your habit should be checked-in.

  • Interval: you can freely decide how often your habit should be executed like every 2 days or every 30 days.

Goal

Setting goal includes setting the value, unit, and period.

  • For value, enter from your keyboard to set any value.

  • For unit, choose one from the specified list

  • For the period, you can set your goal as for per day, per week, or per month.

Time of Day

Time of day includes Morning, Afternoon, and Evening. Decide on which Time of Day you would like to do your habit. You can choose one or multiple.

This setting will decide whether your habit will appear in your habit list when you open the Time of Day filter view.

To adjust the time range for your Morning, Afternoon, and Evening, please go to side bar > App Settings > Time of Day

Start Date

The start date is the first date you begin tracking your habit. The habit only appears in the Journal since the start date.

You can set any date as the start date. You can choose a date in the past to re-record your previous achievement in the app.

Small note: Later, if you change your start date back to further in the past, then from the new start date to the old one, the default goal of your habit will be 1 time.

Reminders

Reminders decide when Habitify should send you a notification, telling you to do your habit. You can set several reminders.

There are 3 types of reminders:

  • Time-based reminder: You set a specific time. You also can decide on which day this time-based reminder shoud work. Click Done to save the reminder.

  • Location-based reminder: Habitify will access your location, and based on whether you are leaving or entering the specified location the app will send you a reminder. Read more about Location-based reminder here.

Area

This feature allows you to categorize and organize your habits based on different aspects of your life and priorities.

Checklist

The checklist enables you to create a recurring to-do list alongside your habit. The checklist updates automatically with your goal; for instance, if your goal is set for daily completion, the checklist will refresh each day.

Write down each item of your checklist and press Enter to add a new one.

To see this checklist, please access the List View and click the icon of checklist next to your habit's goal. Click on the item to mark it as done.

Add a bad habit

When you choose to create a bad habit, a pop-up will appear for your setting-up as in the screenshot below:

The settings will be different based on the type of goal. You can choose between "Quit" or "Limit".

Name, icon & color

Like the good habit, you can create a custom habit, or click the Name placeholder and choose from the list.

Then, click the question mark to choose icon & color for your habit.

Goal to quit

To quit a habit is trying to not do the habit even for once. Therefore, technically, your goal will be as "0 per day".

For this type of goal, you just need to set the start date.

Goal to limit

For the goal to limit a habit, there is still a space where you can do the habit but not freely. You will need to set a goal as a barrier beside the start date.

Small note:

If you set start date in the past, from the start date to current date, your bad habit will be marked as succeeded with progress value 0.

To change the status or to update the progress for those date, use the phone app and follow this guide.

All things are set, click Save to add the new habit to your list.

AI Magic Feel: Set Up with Ease

For a faster and more intuitive way to set up your habits on the web app, you can use our Magic Fill feature. This helpful tool uses AI to automatically configure your habit based on a simple description you provide, saving you a few clicks.

When creating a new habit, simply type a sentence describing your goal into the Magic Fill input box. The AI will analyze your description and automatically fill in the habit's name, goal, and repeat schedule for you. You can then review and adjust any of the details before saving.

How it works

Let's try the prompt:

"Runevery 2 days, 5km per day, start tomorrow, remind me at 7 PM or 7 AM. Checklist includes preparing shoes, preparing running clothes, and buy water."

And here we can get with this prompt:
