Messaging on invoices can be added to a Single invoice, a group of invoices or set as a permanent message for all invoices.
Set up the Custom invoice note -
Start by going to Settings > Business Information
Below the company information is a section for Custom Invoice Note. Enter the information in this section, you would like displayed on the invoice in addition to the business information. Save.
This custom messaging will display at the bottom of the invoice.
For longer messaging, this can result in additional pages for the invoice.
Permanent Invoice Note -
After you save the note, any future or regenerated invoices will automatically display the saved invoice note. If you need the same message on all invoices, save your custom message and walk away. That message will populate on all invoices.
** WARNING: Please make sure to communicate within your office if you are creating messaging for a specific group of customers. The information that is stored in the Custom Invoice Note section is live and will display on any invoice if those invoices are created and or regenerated while that note is saved. If you are creating a custom invoice note for a special group of customers, please make sure that no other users in your company are updating invoices as that note will carry over **
Note on Invoice for a specific group of customers -
For this example, lets say that you want to inform just your print invoice customers that they will be subject to a fee moving forward.
Start by adding your custom message under settings.
With that note saved, locate the group of invoices you wish to update with this message.
I am adding the tags filter to the invoices list, filter by a specific tag (Print for this example). Select all unpaid / draft and regenerate.
The regeneration will update the invoice to display the specific message added under settings.
Once you have update the group of invoices for this special message, remember to update settings to remove that message or it will continue to populate on all future invoices.
