Displaying your primary number helps your contacts recognize your business immediately, building trust and professionalism from the first ring.
Your primary number is typically the number you want people to associate with your business. It might be the number you've used for years, printed on your business cards, listed online, or shared with clients before joining M1.
Here's how to make sure it shows when you make outbound calls from the M1 app:
1. Set up Caller ID in the M1 app
Open M1 on your phone
Go to the Settings tab
In the M1 Number section, tap Caller Identity.
Under Outgoing calls, choose the number recipients see:
Your M1 number
Your forwarded number
Another number
Complete the verification process:
Answer the automated call from M1
When prompted, enter the 6-digit code from the app to confirm your identity.
🎉 That's it! Your primary M1 number will now appear to the people you call.
ℹ️ If you ported your number to M1
Your ported number will automatically appear as your Caller ID, no additional setup is needed.
2. Troubleshooting Caller ID Issues
If you're experiencing issues enabling Caller ID, try the following solutions:
Missed the verification call?
If you missed the automated verification call:
Quit and relaunch the M1 app.
Repeat the Caller ID setup process from step 1.
Using Call Forwarding?
If Call Forwarding is enabled, it may also interfere with Caller ID setup. Try the following:
Disable Call Forwarding in both M1 and your carrier settings.
Quit and relaunch the your M1 app.
Enable Caller ID again in the M1 app.
Once Caller ID is successfully enabled, you can re-enable Call Forwarding if needed.
Still having trouble?
If you've tried these steps and Caller ID still isn’t working, please reach out to our Support Team through the M1 app chat for further assistance.
