Yes — the intelligence you get from Helios is proprietary.
While some of our raw inputs (climate and pricing) originate from public or licensed private sources, everything we deliver — from the way we clean and process the data to the forecasts, risk ratings, and geospatial insights — is unique to Helios.
1. Raw Inputs vs. Proprietary Outputs
Climate Data: Sourced from trusted global weather networks, satellites, and reanalysis datasets.
Pricing Data: Collected from both public commodity reports and licensed/private data providers.
We don’t simply forward this raw information — we standardize, clean, format, and integrate it into a consistent framework, making it easy to read, comparable across markets, and historically aligned. Once processed, even historical prices become a proprietary dataset unique to Helios.
2. Exclusive Helios-Generated Intelligence
Our proprietary outputs include:
Climate risk, also known as WA%R™ (Weighted Average Percent of Risk): Helios’s climate stress indicator, showing the weighted share of producing locations under risk conditions in real time.
Status Indicator, and Seasonal Risk Ratings: Early-warning indicators for each crop and region.
Price Forecasts: Climate- and market-adjusted predictions for short- and medium-term pricing.
Yield Forecasts: AI-based production outlooks tied to climate, trade, and regional conditions.
Custom Risk Profiles: Historical and projected risk patterns for each crop/region combination. We know exactly what each crop likes and dislikes, and how it reacts to droughts, extreme heat, frosts and excessive rain.
3. Proprietary Geospatial Crop Database
We maintain a unique global database of precise growing locations (lat/long) for ~90% of export-focused production areas.
This includes:
Exact district-level growing zones
Country and regional production shares
Market share weightings integrated directly into our price and risk models
4. Why This Matters for Clients
Because our climate risk algorithms, WA%R™, forecasts, geospatial database, and standardized historical prices are only available through Helios, you get:
Earlier, more accurate disruption warnings
Country- and district-specific insights unavailable from public sources
Pricing that is already normalized, cleaned, and ready for analysis — no data wrangling required
