No. Atlas builds pages and merchandising tools. It does not source products, hold stock, set your prices, ship anything, or handle returns. The one adjacent thing it does is create a product in your Shopify catalog when you build a page from an external URL, so the page has something to sell. Everything about that product afterwards is yours.
What Atlas does with products
Does | Does not |
Reads a product page and imports its title, description, images and price | Order from a supplier |
Creates the product in your Shopify catalog | Hold or update inventory |
Writes new page copy about it | Set your selling price |
Displays it in bundles and cart upsells | Ship anything |
Reports on revenue attributed to Atlas features | Handle returns or claims |
Products Atlas creates from a URL
When you build from a URL rather than your catalogue, Atlas creates a Shopify product so the page has something to sell.
⚠️ Check that product before sending it any traffic. The imported price came from a supplier listing and is unlikely to be your selling price. Inventory, shipping settings and sales channels all need setting up as you would for any product.
At minimum, check:
The price is what you intend to charge
Inventory tracking is set up the way you want
It is published to the Online Store sales channel
Shipping settings and weight are correct
The description is accurate rather than copied wholesale from a supplier
Fulfillment stays with Shopify
Orders are placed and managed in Shopify. Fulfillment is handled by you, by a fulfillment app, or by whatever supplier arrangement you use. Atlas has no involvement in any of it and cannot see your fulfillment status.
If a customer asks about a delivery, that is a Shopify and supplier question, not an Atlas one.
What about shipping protection?
Shipping protection in the cart drawer is a paid add-on customers can choose. Atlas displays it and adds it to the order.
⚠️ Atlas does not underwrite it, insure it, or handle claims. If a customer pays for protection and their parcel goes missing, you honour the promise your description made. Decide what your protection actually covers before you enable it.
Inventory and bundles
Bundles use your existing products, so stock is tracked by Shopify as normal. A bundle offer for three units removes three units from inventory.
ℹ️ Atlas does not check stock before displaying an offer. A bundle offering three units of a product with two in stock will still show, and the customer will hit the limit at checkout. If you sell items with tight stock, keep an eye on the offers you have live.
