Bundle Deals puts offers on your product pages: buy two save 10%, buy one get one free, or a set of products sold together at a lower price. The customer picks an offer, adds it to their cart, and the discount is applied automatically at checkout with no code to type. The goal is a bigger average order rather than more orders.
In this article:
What a bundle looks like to a customer
A block on your product page showing two or more offers, usually stacked. Each offer shows a quantity, a price, and often a badge such as Most Popular or Best Choice. One offer is preselected. The customer picks the one they want and adds it to the cart.
You control the wording, the colours, the layout, the badges, and which offer is selected by default.
What you can build
Offer type | Example |
Quantity break | Buy 2 for 10% off, buy 3 for 20% off |
Buy X get Y | Buy 2, get 1 free |
Buy X get Y at a percentage | Buy 1, get 1 at 50% off |
Fixed amount off | $10 off when buying 3 |
Specific price | Any 3 for $25 |
Multi-product bundle | Shirt, trousers and shoes together at 20% off |
On top of the offers themselves you can add upsells, free gifts, progressive gifts unlocked at higher tiers, a countdown timer, and subscription options.
How the discount is applied
Atlas creates a Shopify automatic discount for each active offer. When the customer's cart matches an offer, Shopify applies the discount at checkout. No discount code is involved and the customer does not have to do anything.
ℹ️ Because the discount is applied through the Shopify cart and checkout, any checkout flow that bypasses them will not receive it. Third-party cash on delivery apps and custom checkouts are the usual cases.
What it needs from your theme
The Atlas Bundler app block, added to your product template in the Shopify theme editor.
This is a block rather than an app embed, which is why your dashboard shows its status as Added or Not added rather than Active or Inactive, and why its action is Add to theme.
⚠️ A bundle can be Active with its discounts live while the block is missing from your theme. The offer is then invisible to customers, but the discount still exists and will apply if a cart happens to match. Always confirm the block is added.
When to use bundles
💡 The clearest signal is a product people buy more than one of, or buy alongside something predictable. If customers regularly order two of the same item, a quantity break converts that into a bigger single order.
Good candidates:
Consumables, where buying several at once is natural
Products with a clear companion item
Anything where your margin allows a discount at volume
Products where shipping cost per order is high, so larger orders are better for you
Less suitable:
One-per-household purchases
Products with very thin margins, where any discount removes the profit
Stores already running a bundling app, since only one can be active
Rules and limits
Rule | Detail |
One bundle per product | Only one active bundle may apply to a given product. Overlaps are refused with a conflict error. |
Only one bundle app per store | Running another bundling app alongside Atlas will conflict. |
25 automatic discounts | Shopify allows 25 automatic discounts per store, and each active bundle offer uses one. |
Products must be published | Every product in a bundle must be published to the Online Store sales channel. |
Subscription required | Bundle Deals needs an active Atlas subscription. |
Progressive gifts | Up to 4 gift items per bundle, including free shipping. |
Bundle revenue is also one of the three things Atlas charges usage on. Up to $1,000 of added bundle revenue is included each cycle. See Atlas usage rates and tiers.
